April-June 2024 Newsletter

From the desk of Randy House - Mayor

Spring is here...a season to enjoy family, friends and the outdoors!!

Code Enforcement

Please contact Ed Cusato, Codes Officer at 315-243-9568 for all building permits or code enforcement complaints.

NYS Brush Burning Prohibition runs March 16th - May 14th to protect NYS communities and prevent wildfires. The Village of Central Square Local Law Chapter 164 "Open Burning" limits the type of fires allowed within the village district.

With Spring right around the corner, a reminder to residents - a swimming pool permit is required for all pools with water depths of 24 inches or more. The State Building Code requires they be enclosed by a 48-inch-high fence with self- closing gates. Please contact the Village Code Enforcement Officer for additional permit requirements.

From the desk of George McCormick - DPW Supervisor

REMINDER: "flushable" wipes can NOT be disposed of into the sewer. Lines are getting clogged, are in violation of our village law and can carry up to a $1,000 fine per incident. Other items to avoid disposing down the sewer line are diapers (baby or adult), gloves, cigarette butts, pharmaceuticals, grease, oil or wax, paper towels, cleaning rags or mop strings. Let's all do our part and dispose of these items in the proper manner. Spring brush and leaf pickup begins between April 1st - 15th and ends approximately May 1st - 15th.

From the desk of Rebekah McGraw - Summer Recreation Director
