History of Central Square Government


Government History

The government of Central Square was established upon its incorporation in 1890, with a village population of approximately 500 residents. The initial officers included David L. Wood as president, serving a three-year term, along with trustees John Hamilton, George Coville, and Dr. Nelson W. Bates. Gabriel Traub assumed the role of treasurer, Jacob Farrington as collector, and J. H. Gridley as clerk.
