Codes

The responsibility of the code enforcement officer is to enforce various codes and ordinances, including the International Building Code, the New York State Uniform Building Code, local municipal building codes, zoning ordinances, and laws pertaining to multiple residencies. These duties are enforced in accordance with the laws adopted by the Village Board.

Duties

Review building permit applications

• Review building plans

• Issue building permits

• Perform building inspections

• Issue certificates of occupancy & compliance

Fire Inspections

• All public assembly occupancies annually

• All other business occupancies every 2–3 years

• Enforcement of Village Zoning Law

• Regulation of land and building uses

Enforcement of additional regulations

• Wetland regulations

• Flood Plain regulations

• Storm Water Management
